A “Place” where all children (& Staff) can explore their faith in a safe, creative and interactive way. A “Place or Space” where we can ask BIG questions about life, ourselves, others, or our planet.
Prayer spaces enable children and young people, of all faiths and none, to explore these life questions, spirituality and faith in a safe, creative and interactive way.
Taking a broadly Christian perspective as a starting point, prayer spaces give children and young people an opportunity to develop skills of personal reflection and to explore prayer in an open, inclusive and safe environment.
In Prayer Space we can speak to God in lots of different ways by…
Making things, talking, asking, thinking, folding, shaking, floating, listening, writing, ripping, watching, building, pegging, posting…
We have used…
Pens, paper, post-it-notes, water, blu-tac, sellotape, string, computers, Treasure Chest, beads, Sparkling Jars, Globes, Newspapers, picnic rugs and cushions.
Our special space for our “Prayer Space” is at the back of Yr 5 & 6 Classroom, but we have also used the Hall and Outdoor Reflective Area!
Prayer Space…
A time to THINK…to ASK…and to DO.
Prayer Space is run every Thursday afternoon by Mrs Hird.
